Dashboard Filters: Last N Elements

How to Filter a Chapter to Display Only the Last N Elements in Performance Analytics or Collaboration Analytics

Written by Ashley Larson

As a continuation from the How to Filter an Entire Dashboard, it is possible to select the Last Number of elements in the Filter panel. This feature is available if you are a Power User in Performance Analytics or are either a Power User or Dashboard & Alert User in Collaboration Analytics.

Last N Elements

Use the Last N Elements filter option on a Dashboard that has a Chapter that focuses on a Trend or Time Range.

  1. From a Trend Dataset, drag a time attribute into the Filter panel (Ex: Week)

  2. Select the Menu button for the attribute filter (Ex: Week)

  3. Click Dynamic Selection

  4. Click Last N Elements

  5. Enter the Quantity (Ex: 6)

  6. Click OK

All the Trend data will be filtered to your selections above (Ex: to all of the last six weeks)

Under the File drop-down menu, it is recommended to select Create Personal View to Save because any SPS updates to any pre-built dashboards will carry over. Alternatively, click Save As... and rename the Dashboard.

As the saved dashboard updates on a weekly basis, it will continue to show the data for the most recent six weeks.
