SPS Performance Analytics includes Responsive Mode, which allows for optimal viewing of Dashboards on your mobile device. Responsive mode adjusts dashboards to fit the mobile layout, ensuring that visual elements are fully viewable on any mobile device.
To activate responsive mode, click on the menu button and select Preview Responsive Mode. Once responsive mode is active, your dashboard is resized to fit your mobile device screen's size.
When designing custom dashboards as a Power User, keep in mind that a few design decisions can make a big difference for mobile users' experience. To preview what your dashboard looks like in Reflexive Mode while designing in the web browser on your PC, click the icon at the top right hand side of the page, or use the menu at the top right and select Responsive Preview.
To create a mobile version of an existing custom dashboard, right click on the existing Chapter (typically found at the bottom of the page), and then Duplicate Chapter.
Right click on the new chapter and rename to label the chapter as a mobile version.
Next, consider the following techniques to ensure a good mobile experience:
Remove large data grids by clicking on the menu at the top of the grid and then clicking delete.
Change the dashboard to Free Form Mode by clicking on the Free Form Layout Icon at the top right hand side of the dashboard.
Once the dashboard is in Free Form Mode, you can adjust the size of each individual object. Consider making text objects smaller so that the text just fills the object.
While previewing the dashboard in Responsive Mode, take note of any visualizations that are too big or small to view on your device. Then, you can exit the preview and resize.
