Amazon's Data Feed in Performance Analytics and ADS will be More Efficient than Ever

What is Happening?

The Amazon Portal Premium retailer data feed is being replaced with the new, highly efficient Amazon API data feed. This affects customers with the 'Amazon Portal Premium' Trading Partner connection in Performance Analytics and ADS.

Moving forward, customers must update reports, dashboards, and subscriptions to reference the new Amazon API feeds by North American location:

  • Amazon US

  • Amazon CA

  • Amazon MX

  • Example: On Monday, October 20, you will receive data for the previous week ending on October 18, and the data for weeks ending on October 4 and October 11 will be restated.


Action Required

🚨 The old Amazon Portal Premium data feed is being upgraded. The SPS account team will share additional details regarding the transition process in the coming weeks. This transition will be rolled out in phases, and customers will begin receiving data from the Amazon API feed accordingly. Customers should update all reports, dashboards, and subscriptions to reference the new Amazon API feeds (Amazon US, Amazon CA, Amazon MX) as soon as possible. Steps are provided below.


Steps to Update to the New API Amazon API Feeds

Follow the steps below to update your reports, dashboards, and subscriptions.

Update a Report

In Performance Analytics, open a Best Practice Report.

Example:

  1. Navigate to the: Dashboards folder.

  2. Best Practice Reports folder.

  3. Select the Basic Selling report.

Under the Retailers section, double-click or use the arrow to add any of the desired new API versions (Amazon US, Amazon CA, Amazon MX).

Note: To review the old connection, select Amazon Portal Premium.

Click on the Retailer drop-down to review between the new (and old) connection data.

Subscriptions

To set up a new weekly subscription of this report, save the report first, and then follow the steps outlined here.

πŸ’‘Be sure to remove the old Amazon Portal Premium subscriptions when setting up the new Amazon API ones in your My Subscriptions folder.

Update a Dashboard

In Performance Analytics, open a Dashboard.

Example:

  1. Navigate to the: Dashboards folder.

  2. Fundamental Dashboards folder.

  3. Select the Product Performance report.

Under the Retailer section, click on the drop-down menu and:

  1. Uncheck the (All) checkbox to remove all selections.

  2. Check the box next to any of the desired new API versions (Amazon US, Amazon CA, Amazon MX).

  3. Check the box to review and compare with the old Amazon Portal Premium and Amazon Portal Premium Canada retailer connections.

  4. Click OK to filter all dashboard data to the selected Amazon API retailer connection(s).

New Metrics

Amazon API vs. Old Amazon Portal Premium Overview:

The Amazon API includes all metrics and attributes from the old Amazon Portal Premium, except optional GlanceViews, while introducing additional attributes/metrics. For a detailed Gap Analysis, contact AnalyticsSupport@SPScommerce.com.
